God wants us to give up all those fake and cheap things we hold very preciously in our life. It can be habits, hatreds, harming relationships, activities, negative thoughts, etc. He will provide us genuine things to give up the fake!

Once upon a time there lived a generous, kind-hearted king. He was fond of birds and animals and had a huge bird sanctuary in his reign...

"Hard Work Always Pay" - There was an old man living in his village. He had four sons and they were very lazy...

"Health is Wealth!" - Once upon a time, there lived a generous and kind-hearted king. But, the people weren’t happy with their king...

"Divide and rule policy." - There was a green and fresh pasture, in which three cows lived, a white cow, a black cow and a reddish-brown one...

"This is the result of doing something without thinking about it first." - Once upon a time, there was a hungry fox that was looking for something to eat. He was very hungry...

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"...

“Slowly does it every time!” - Once upon a time there was a hare who, boasting how he could run faster than anyone else, was forever teasing tortoise for its slowness...

The cat was the next passerby. He smelt the mouse in the basket. He lifted its lid. He ate the mouse...

Dear children, some birds drag one of their wings on the ground when an enemy is going to attack. In this way they fool their enemies into thinking they are hurt. When the enemy follows them this gives their children time to escape.

He understood that he has to think of a way out. He hid under a bush. He lay still the wild dogs went their way.

Inappropriate verbal usage would cause permanent marks than physical damage!

"Little friends may prove great friends." - “Pardon, O King,” cried the little Mouse: “Forgive me this time. I shall never repeat it and I shall never forget your kindness. And who knows, but I may be able to do you a good turn one of these days?”

"Do not count your chickens before they are hatched." - Patty the Milkmaid was going to market carrying her milk in a pail on her head...

"It’s easy to despise what you can not have." - One afternoon a fox was walking through the forest and spotted a bunch of grapes hanging from over a lofty branch. “Just the thing to quench my thirst,” quoted the fox.

Today, we can see how Jesus wants us all to enter the Kingdom of God. Hence, the strong warning to the “rich”. They are also called to enter the Kingdom. But they do face more difficult challenges to open themselves to God...

Today, facing a world which decided to turn its back on God, in front of a world hostile to the Christianity and to Christians, to listen to Jesus brings consolation, joy and hope in the middle of the daily struggle

Today, the Gospel invites us to evangelize, it says: “Preach” (Mt 10:7). The announcement is Jesus’ good news, trying to tell us about the kingdom of God, that He is our savior, sent by the Father to the world and for this reason... 

Today, the Gospel speaks of the centurion's love, of his faith, confidence and humility. Of his deep concern towards his servant. He is so worried about him, that he humiliates before Jesus to ask his help: "Sir, my servant lies sick at home..."

If nothing else, these words demand, in our condition as Christians, our responsibility while letting us feel the urge to bear witness to our faith.

Today, the Gospel has reminded me of the Marshalling's words in Der Rosenkavalier, by Hugo von Hofmansthal: "The big difference lies upon the 'how'". In many aspects of our life... 

Let us be sincere and honest with ourselves: where are our efforts directed to, which are our endeavours? True, good Christians must honestly study and labour to make a living, to raise a family, to insure their future and a peaceful life…

Today, Jesus invites us to act always for the glory of God, to please the Father, as this is why we have been created for. This is how the Catechism of the Church confirms it: «God created everything for man, but man in turn was created to serve and love...
